The draw for the Africa Cup of Nations took place in Abidjan, with hosts Ivory Coast being joined by Nigeria in Group A. 2024 AFCON will be different and top matches will be competing in the AFRICA’s biggest football trophy.
In the same group, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau have qualified for the fourth consecutive time.
The tournament comprises of heavyweight pairings, including defending champions Senegal with five-time winners Cameroon, while Africa’s first World Cup semi-finalists Morocco face Democratic Republic of Congo.
The competition will start on January 13 in Abidjan, with Ivory Coast playing against Guinea-Bissau in the opening match.
Nigeria will face Ivory Coast in what is expected to be the most exciting fixture of Group A. Morocco, who won the premier African football competition only once in 1976 in Ethiopia, have been drawn in Group F with DR Congo, Zambia, and Tanzania.
The final match of the tournament will take place on February 11, with Group D, comprising Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Angola, completing the line-up.

The 34th edition of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON will be played in Abidjan, Korhogo, Bouake, Yamoussokro and San Pedro between 13 January and 11 February 2024.
