Chris Cramer motivation
“Chris trusted me on big stories when I was still in my 20s. When I did ok and asked him for more money he went to the window of his office in BBC TV Centre, opened it, and stood rubbing his hands, ” he narrated.
“It’s cold out there, Jeremy, very cold he said. Be grateful for what you have, ” he added.
” Cramer greeted me at Heathrow when I came back from the war in Baghdad in 1991 with a bottle of champagne which we drank out of cartoon paper cups from his daughter’s birthday party outside WH Smith, ” he said.
“He also sent sergeant major messages to get my hair cut and stop showing chest hair, ” he said.
” Chris Cramer was a remarkable man, an exceptional journalist and boss. He left a big hole in the BBC when he went to CNN, and never lost the respect of his colleagues, even when they’d been bollocked, ” he concluded.
Rest in peace Chris. Condolences to his family.
